    REVIEW: GBHBL 7.5/10
    November 20, 2019

There’s some mileage on The End A.D. You can tell even though they’ve only been around since 2014. They’ve got stories and it shows through their music. A kind of punk-metal fusion that is as bloody as it is energetic. Like all good punk, it’s very raw and very reflective of the times we live in. However, like all good metal it has also got heavy riffing, wicked rhythm and punchy percussion. All backed up by a snarling set of vocals that put the exclamation point on every single note. The energy of Addiction, Why Won’t You Die and Be Here Now ensures things are moving in the right direction immediately. Even though Junkie Logic slows things down, it’s far from lacking in power though. The metal side of the band oozing through and delivering a hefty hit. It’s great fun. It’s back to the more ‘in your face’ punkier stuff with Bitch Magnet, Enemy Action and I Feel Like Death. This is the top drawer side of The End A.D. Each track standing out in their own impersonal way. There’s a bit of a lull with the unmotivated Tundra but it’s a short-lived dip as Alien Face gets a bit more rage-fuelled before I Wanna Be Alone wraps things up in an unexpected way. Unexpected because it’s over 6 minutes long and really dives into the metal. Head first into it for a rollicking and rough affair. One for the sweaty and small clubs as a bunch of rowdy metallers and punk rockers lose their shit to it. —Carl 'The Disc' Fisher

    REVIEW: BATTLE HELM 4/5
    November 13, 2019

Everything about this screams 80s crossover metal. From the band name to the album cover art to the band photos. And since I am a child of that era this is right up my block. If you like me liked stuff like M O D, S O D, D R I, Mace etc. you will like this too. This chugs and thrashes like there is no tomorrow. A real punch in the face, or as we say in Swedish; “en ren jävla smocka”. This album really woke me up from my slumber. I don’t remember the last time I heard an album like this, that mixes metal with punk in a delightful crossover mode. Great stuff indeed. -Anders Ekdahl

    REVIEW: ETERNAL TERROR 4/6
    November 15, 2019

The raw and delightfully unpolished outfit appropriately named The End A.D., which hails from the lovely city that is Philadelphia, is an interesting musical encounter. For one thing, they shamelessly mix thick and filthy punk rock, huge thrash-influenced riffs, and the loud and nasty vibe of hardcore to great effect. It all sounds pretty fucking massive and crunchy, and “Badlands” is definitely hard-hitting and in-your-face. Another cool thing about the record is that its ten punchy tracks are sharp and concise affairs, but they are sufficiently varied to keep the listener engaged and focused on what is going on throughout. In other words, the the song material is easily accessible and yet it is not without its fair share of wicked twists and turns. This rotten opus is unarguably an aggressive and catchy slab of somewhat groovy and strangely invigorating metal...well, punk- and hardcore-infused heavy metal to be more precise, but you get the point! The female vocals add grit and intensity to the proceedings and the musicianship is solid overall, but not every tune slays and the first half of the album is slightly better and a tiny bit more atmospheric than the last half. For a teaser, check either the pounding “Enemy Action” or the instantly memorable and dark “Junkie Logic” out.

    REVIEW: THE DIRTY ROOM
    September 23, 2019

The End A.D. hail from the city of brotherly love and with the release of their new album Badlands show they are have only just begun to kick ass. They have a no compromise, take no prisoners, kick your fucking teeth in attitude and the musical chops to more than back it up. Singer Ami Friend has put the world on notice that there is a new woman in charge of the mic and stage. Friend has power, aggression, and is not afraid to tell you to go fuck yourself! Her vocals hit you with the force of a sledge hammer and have you getting back up and asking for another slam to the face. The End A.D. is a perfect mix of real punk and heavy metal. The chunky and hard guitar riffs meld with fast and heavy punk notes to bring home a new era of cross over punk and metal for this generation. I could go on about the various influences that come out in their music, but they take all that and create a sound that is completely all their own. The lyrics are deep and heavy touching on all that is relevant today be it good, bad or hard to accept. I love the hard and raw drums and bass and how they bring such relentless and non-stop barrage of head banging ferocity. The whole album is 100% in your face from start to finish. Badlands is the album to bring both punks and metal heads together. I almost feel bad that the rest of the world must wait to hear this awesome album (well not that bad more like lucky). The End A.D. has already shared the stage with some of the best bands around the world. Man, I can picture one of the best and heaviest tours with The End A.D. and the mighty Otep. I mean come on man, Ami Friend and Shamaya on the same stage! Not sure if any of the buildings would be left standing but it would be one hell of a show. Come on promoters give the people what they want. Badlands comes out November 29th and you’re going to want to get this as soon as it comes out, so go and order it. It’s always heavy in Philadelphia and The End A.D. is more than doing their part to keep it that way.

VIDEO REVIEW: METAL TO INFINITY WEBZINE BELGIUM
October 27

In their five year existence they have released a full-length CD, a couple EP’s, a split, & a couple singles from their upcoming sophomore CD entitled ‘Badlands’, to be released in November 2019.

I’d honestly had not heard of The End A.D. until a week ago or so when ‘Tim Swisher, (vocalist/guitarist of Eyes Of The Living), had posted a video of theirs on a Facebook group called ‘Metal-O-Mania’. I was immediately blown away & taken aback slightly with this “crushing-brutal-hammering-hardcore-heavy” three & a half minutes metal shit fit entitled, ‘Addiction’

Serious as a heart attack I couldn’t get enough of this video. If the intensity & sheer brutality of the The End A.D musically that reminisces of ‘The Exploited’, Cro-Mags’, ‘Verbal Abuse’, & ‘GBH’ wasn’t enough, the ear-splitting scream of frontlady ‘Ami Friend’ at forty-six seconds into ‘Addiction’ doesn’t have you pulled in & ‘jaw-fuckin’-dropped’, then you’re probably some damn ‘poseur’ that needs your head kicked in as hard as ‘Lorin Savadove’ on the drums is kicking them bass drums! This is some mind-blowing music.

Absolutely love the vocals & angry stage presence of ‘Ami Friend’ whom reminds me of the late ‘Wendy O. Williams’, ‘Storm Large’, & ‘Kim Gordon’ rolled up into one & cannot wait until ‘Badlands’ is released. At such time I will write up a full CD review. Until then, great fuckin’ job ‘The End A.D.! Looking forward to the new material.
